Christine Klingebiel
Christine has been with Zoolatry for nearly four years, serving the
Palisades area of the District.
Early Grooming Career
Her career in pet-care began much earlier, however, in the 1980s,
when she attended grooming school in Baltimore, Maryland, and started
her own grooming business.
Shelter Days
In the 1990s, Christine spent six years with the Montgomery County
Humane Society as a fulltime adoption counselor. She adopted many of
the shelter's most pitiful cases herself -- the 14-year-old dog turned
in when its owners moved, one of 13 Borzois turned in as "stock" when
their owner, a breeder, went out of business. Each of Christine's eight
dogs and nine cats has its own hard-luck story turned good-luck story
when they met her. She continues to lavish them with a degree of emotional
support and specialty medical care unknown even to pets from the best homes.
